People in Boston, now will be able to order booze on the app of on-demand grocery delivery service, Instacart. The service is planning to add booze to their repertoire.
The Instacart is going to be partnering with the Vinodivino, a local liquor store. The store has locations in Boston, Newton, Needham and Brookline. Alia Rafeh, an Instacart spokesperson, said that, alcohol delivery was a “natural vertical for us to be in.”
Andrew Nodes at Instacart, said that, “we are thrilled to bring alcohol delivery to Boston, so that we can integrate another category on our platform. With Vinodivino and Pantry on the Instacart marketplace, our Boston customers will have access to groceries and beverages they enjoy.”
The customers will need to provide their date of birth at checkout to confirm their age, while, ordering alcohol from Vinodivino and Pantry through Instacart. The recipient must be 21 and older to order the alcohol. The service will also ask a proof of legal age with a valid photo ID and the presence of the recipient at the time of delivery of booze.
Initial delivery areas of Instacart for Vinodivino and Pantry, include Boston and its surrounding areas, Brookline, Cambridge and Newton.
